Century Toppers Rod & Custom Car Club of Victoria B.C. was established in the spring of 1957 by a group of 16-17 year old car enthusiasts. Model A's, '40 Fords, '40 Mercs, '40 Chev's, etc. were a dime a dozen. Nearly every kid had or had access to an old car to tinker with.

In 1946 Gene Winfield "legendary Customizer and Rod Builder" from Modesto California started the first club in Modesto know as the Century Toppers Car Club. I had no idea until I recieved an email from an original member Orvel "Speed" Reichert Modesto Century Topper 1948-1955
Orv's first run at El Mirage dry lake..Summer 1950 turned 122.03 on gas Note the emblem on the club jacket? colors were white/Kelly green.
